SERGOVIA, Spain — Former Baylor all-American Benjamin Becker breezed through the opening round at the Open Castilla y Leon, a $125,000 Challenger event, 6-1, 6-1 over wild card Jesus Sanroman-Garcia of Spain.
Becker, ranked 101st in the world, advances to the second round, where he will face fourth-seeded Ivan Navarro or wild Card Guillermo Alcaide.
